Ubiquitous. Omnipresent. Ooooh - such great words! You can almost hear the hush that descends over the conversation as you throw one of these out. Less impressive would be the word "common" with all its negative connotations, and yet the two impressive words tossed out first mean just this sometimes. The use of the word "ubiquitous" has become ubiquitous as had the literary driven blog, and yet I am still drawn to both. So are my interests and preoccupations common? Too early in my day to attempt that line of thought.
What do I want to do? I want to pick up my solitary pursuit of reading, and take it into the open forum of the blog. I want to feature the arts of paper and bookmaking by sharing my work as well as that of others. I want to talk about the elementary school kids I teach, the book groups I run for them, and their success well worth celebrating amidst their sometimes troubled urban home and school settings. I want to explore the ubiquitous book club. I want the opportunity to write randomly about the things that strike a person addicted to the smell of ink and paper. And I want to miraculously understand the most complicated technical aspects of blog creation and maintenance. I want my impractical self to be gifted with all the practical skills necessary to craft a successful site.So wish me luck in pursuit of this heavy wish list?
